Dashavatar or dashavatara or dashavaratharam refers to the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu, namely; Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Parasurama, Rama, Balarama, Krishna and Kalki. The purpose of ten incarnation is to restore the cosmic order (i.e., eradicate the evil forces from earth and to restore the Dharma - the restoration of the divine).

10. Kalki (destroyer of darkness) A KaliYuga Avatar. Kalki is the final incarnation of Vishnu in the current Mahayuga, foretold to appear at the end of Kali Yuga, the current epoch. Religious texts called the Puranas foretell that Kalki will be atop a white horse with a drawn blazing sword. He is the harbinger of the end time in Hindu.

6. THE TEN AVATARS The ten incarnations of Vishnu are a recurrent theme in Vedic history. Vishnu exists outside the material realm as the creator, and he exists within every being as the Supersoul. He also enters this world as avatar, 'one who descends', to restore balance whenever his presence is needed. His descent is described by Krishna:
